MAKE A DIFFERENCE
You can help hungry Brookings Harbor families by volunteering at the Brookings Harbor Community Helpers Emergency Food Bank.
The Food Bank relies on a diverse range of individuals. This is a group who enjoy working with each other and especially giving our families in need a hand up, not a hand out.
WHY THE FOOD BANK NEEDS YOUR HELP
The Brookings Harbor Food Bank feeds over 1,500 people per month, and we rely entirely on our volunteers to assist our clients.
Volunteer projects include:
- Repackaging dry foods, i.e., flour, sugar.
- Assisting clients with filling their food boxes
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Volunteering at the Food Bank is easy. Come in during hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 10 until 1, and fill out our brief application form.
You do not need any special training to volunteer, and there are no constraining time commitments. You may volunteer one time, or on a regular basis.
Each shift lasts about three hours and involves a variety of projects and tasks.
Volunteers must be eighteen years or older.
We welcome middle and high school students to complete any school-required service hours for our fund raising events.
Thank you for taking the time to volunteer at the Brookings Harbor Food Bank. You help put food on the table for people in need every time you volunteer.
It is true what they say; “When you volunteer you will get back way more than you give!”? I have been a volunteer at Brookings Harbor Food Bank for over seven years. There has never been a day that I don’t feel better leaving after a shift than when I walked in.Just knowing I helped in some small way to provide a few meals for one of our families is such a feeling of fulfillment. It also makes me so grateful for all that I have in my life. One “God Bless You” or “Thank You” means as much to me as any paycheck I have ever earned!! Maureen K.
